BFA Music Dance Theatre

Description

The Music Dance Theatre (MDT) program at Brigham Young University is a unique integration of the disciplines of music, dance, and theatre.  The Departments of Music, Dance, and Theatre and Media Arts have combined their resources to create a nationally accredited course of study leading to the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

Classes have been carefully designed by the three departments with an innovative, cooperative approach to stimulate the highest level of professionalism for the student who desires to pursue a career as a professional singer, actor and dancer.

The MDT program has a strong commitment to the performing arts.  Each year musical theatre stage productions, major spectaculars, recordings, convention shows, and international touring companies provide opportunities for majors in the program to hone their craft and combine their classroom and workshop training with practical on stage experience in preparation for a professional career.

Admission Requirements

This is a limited enrollment program requiring departmental admissions approval.
