MOA Hours

The Museum of Art is open Monday though Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday evening from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.; and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed Sunday.

 


'Types and Shadows' Lecture Series

John W. Welch, a law professor and religion scholar at BYU, will present a lecture in conjunction with Types and Shadows: Intimations of Divinity in the Museum of Art Auditorium on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 7 p.m. Welch's lecture is titled "Hidden in Plain Sight: Overlooked Christian Treasures on the Long Walls of the Sistine Chapel."

Mirror Mirror: Contemporary Portraits and the Fugitive Self

With the advent of social networking sites, cell phones, and YouTube, how we portray ourselves is always transforming. This exhibition explores how we shape our identities in an expanding global society, and how living artists create artworks in an effort to discover who we are.

Types and Shadows: Intimations of Divinity

This exhibition encourages viewers to participate in the process of seeking out and finding meaning in the symbols, metaphors and veiled visual references that "point to" the Savior's divine mission.
