Damien Bard joined LDS Philanthropies in February 2014 and has worked in assignments at BYU Athletics and BYU Broadcasting. For the last 22 months, Damien has focused on raising funds in support of BYUtv Content Fund and increasing the number of donors serving on the Broadcast Leadership Council (BLC).
Highlights of Damien’s service at LDS Philanthropies include: helping to organize annual Broadcast Leadership Council meetings, facilitating donor cultivation opportunities such as Studio C tapings, Granite Flats set visits and executing fundraising meetings featuring BYUtv on-air personalities. Damien contributed to a record fundraising year at BYUtv in 2015 and helped organize American history themed donor appreciation tours in 2015 and 2016.
Prior to joining LDS Philanthropies, Damien spent 15 years working as an economic development professional at the Idaho Department of Commerce in Boise, Idaho. He advised firms on international business strategy, organized international trade shows and missions, and built international business and diplomatic partnerships in close cooperation with the office of the Idaho Governor.
In 1997, Damien graduated from Boise State University with a B.S. in Political Science. He has studied abroad in Bangkok, Thailand and Kobe, Japan and served as a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Bangkok, Thailand from 1992-1994.
Damien works as a freelance musician (drum set) and has a particular passion for jazz music performance, recording and education. He is happily married to Deborah Bard, is raising 2 sons and 2 daughters and resides in Springville, Utah.
