To help you retain the information you are learning, OrganTutor offers a single drill question on the subject taught on certain screens. If the “Drill” button appears unfaded [ Drill ] at the bottom of the page, there is a drill question waiting.

When you think you know the subject matter on the screen, take the drill by clicking on the active “Drill” button at the bottom of the screen. After doing this, a drill question will appear for you to answer.

Once you have made a selection, click on the “Check Answers” button. If you chose the correct answer, you will be told so. If you answered incorrectly, however, you will be given feedback that explores the topic a bit further. You may click the “Reset Test” button to try the question again, or close the drill and return to the study page.

Some words require a more lengthy explanation or refer to another topic taught in OrganTutor. These words are underlined and can be clicked on to go to the related topic. This opens up a new window, and clicking on additional links moves to other pages in the new window. To return to the previous page within the new window, click the “Back” button in your browser (usually located at the top-left corner of the window). To return to the page where you first clicked a link, close the new window.

There are many different ways to navigate through OrganTutor:

• Arrow Buttons. Use the arrow buttons at the bottom of each page to move sequentially between the pages in the lesson. The left arrow button will take you to the previous page while the right arrow button will proceed to the next.
  

• Bread Crumbs. At the top-left of each page is a text version of the hierarchy of the current page. For the content pages, the bread crumb will list (in order): the “Home” page, unit, lesson, topic, and page number.

• Browser Controls. Use your browser's “Back” and “Forward” buttons to navigate through pages that you have visited as normally done with websites.
  

• Links. Click on the underlined words to open a new window and navigate to related topics in the course. Use the browser's “Back” button to navigate within the new window. Simply close the new window to return to the original topic.

• Menus. The first page in the course, in each unit, and in each lesson contains a menu that allows you to jump to particular locations or topics. Clicking on those locations or topics will take you to that place in the course.
  

A Lesson Test accompanies each STUDY lesson (but most TECHNIQUE lessons have no test.) A test covers all of the important topics introduced in the lesson, and should not be taken until you feel confident that you understand each topic fully.

To take the test, click the Take the test button at the bottom of the page. If no test is available for the lesson, the button will be faded out.

Read through the questions carefully and select the best answer for each one. When you have answered the questions to the best of your ability, click the “Check Answers” button at the bottom of the page. Feedback will be shown based on your answers. You may retake the test by clicking the “Reset Test” button at the bottom of the page.

If you would like to print the questions along with your answers and feedback, click the “Print” button to the top-left or bottom-left of the questions. Follow the normal printing procedure from that point.

Also, if you would like to save your answers for later, click the “Save” button to the top-left or bottom-left of the questions. When you return to a test for which you have saved your answers, the “Load Saved Answers” button will appear at the top or bottom of the page. Simply click that button to retrieve them. (Note: Cookies must be enabled to save your answers.)
