Austen Allred, and alumni of BYU’s School of Communications, co-founded the Lambda School in April of 2017. The school incentivizes students to find a job after school by offering to train them at no up-front cost as long as they agree to pay back a portion of their income after graduation if they make $50,000 per year. Allred’s business model has become so successful that investors—including Ashton Kutcher and Google Ventures—have contributed to the school’s latest round of funding.
