From Direction to Choreography, MDT Students Bring Full-Scale Production to Life.
Get ready to be dazzled by student talent in the Department of Theatre and Media Arts as Broadway Revue returns to the Mainstage Theatre (WCCB) on March 6 and 7.
This unique evening celebrates the best of musical theatre and showcases exceptional performers from BYU’s music dance theatre (MDT) program. Audiences will enjoy song and dance numbers ranging from musical classics to today’s Broadway hits. The production is recommended for ages 12 and older.
What sets Broadway Revue apart is its student leadership. The show is created entirely by students, giving them rare, hands-on experience mounting a production from start to finish.
“My favorite thing about Broadway Revue is that it is produced, choreographed, music-directed and directed entirely by students,” said Carlie McCleary, a senior MDT major and this year’s director. “Rarely are we given the responsibility of making a show happen from top to bottom and full creative control.
For MDT students, Broadway Revue is an opportunity to express their passion for their program.
“This show is a demonstration of our love for our major, our craft and theatre as a whole,” McCleary said. “I cannot wait for everyone to see the love that we have for each other and for musical theatre.”
Audiences can expect an evening filled with energy and creativity as students bring their dedication and artistry to the stage.
