Event Spotlights Faculty-Created Films Shaped Through Close Collaboration with Students and Alumni.
Join the Brigham Young University Department of Theatre and Media Arts (TMA) on February 26 for an evening that celebrates storytelling at its highest level. The Faculty Film Showcase invites audiences to experience the creative vision of the very artists who mentor and shape the next generation of filmmakers.
This curated program features recent works led by the department’s distinguished faculty and highlights their commitment to mentored learning. Each film was created through close collaboration between TMA faculty, students and alumni.
“Many of our faculty members remain active in the industry, and what makes this especially meaningful is their collaboration with students,” said Kyle Stapley, Media Arts Program Manager for the Department of Theatre and Media Arts. “Most of these films were created through that partnership, with faculty and students working side-by-side.”
The showcase represents the very best of the department. While the department regularly celebrates outstanding student work, this event provides a unique opportunity to experience the artistry of TMA faculty.
“We are always excited to showcase films created by our incredible students, but it is just as rewarding to highlight the work of our talented faculty,” Stapley said.
Following the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the faculty filmmakers to learn what inspires their work and how they inspire TMA students.
