Go behind the scenes with the BYU Chamber Orchestra as they perform with Broadway star Lea Salonga in her native Philippines in a documentary titled “Passion, Talent, and Grit.” Throughout their three-week tour, the students performed in 11 concerts, provided humanitarian service and built bridges of faith and understanding.

BYUtv accompanied the first BYU performing arts group to travel to the Philippines in 20 years. The orchestra performed with students from the University of the Philippines Diliman and the University of Santo Tomas, as well as at devotionals in Cebu and Manila each drawing over 1000 members. They also partnered with the humanitarian organization Rise and Rebuild to build a comfort room in the city of Cordova.

Watch “Passion, Talent, and Grit” on BYUtv, Sept. 30 at noon (after the Saturday morning session of General Conference). Read a feature about the experience here and catch a preview of the documentary here.
