BYU hosts free music events March 17-21

Several Brigham Young University performing artists and ensembles will present free concerts during the week of March 17-21.

- CANCELLED: Group for New Music, BYU's avant-garde and new music ensemble under the direction of Michael Hicks, will perform original, contemporary works by faculty and students Tuesday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

- BYU’s best songwriters will be featured at Songwriter Showcase, Thursday, March 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center. The concert is modeled after similar showcases held in Nashville and Los Angeles.

- The Woodwind Chamber Night will be Friday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

- BYU School of music faculty artist and professor of organ Douglas Bush will appear in recital Saturday, March 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.
