The Brigham Young University International Folk Dance Ensemble will give its last U.S. performance for the 2010-2011 season Thursday, March 31, at 7:30 p.m. at Provo's Covey Center for the Arts.

The ensemble will present the successful stage show 'The Gathering.' They will be accompanied by the talented band Mountain Strings, who provide engaging acoustic music for the performance.
'The Gathering' is the pulse of the world's cultures, bringing together Irish hard shoe, American clogging, Ukrainian Hopak, exotic Indian dances and other music and dances from around the world in this 90-minute performance. With authentic costumes and precise movements, the showcase incorporates dance and music from Eastern and Western Europe, the Middle East, Asia and North America.
Fifty years of touring and performing has made the BYU troupe one of the most successful dance ensembles in the United States. They have performed in folk dance festivals around the world and have received invitations to share the stage with some of Europe's most celebrated dance teams.
After this performance, the performers will spend the next two months preparing for a tour to the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, and Croatia in June and July. This will be the group's second time back to these countries since 2008. The ensemble spent the summer of 2009 in China and Hong Kong and toured Italy and France in 2007.
