The Annual BYU Ballroom Dance Company Concert Brings Classic Elegance to Audiences This April
Experience the thrill of the popular dance show, “Dancing with the Stars,” at the annual BYU Ballroom Dance in Concert! The scale of this show is world-class, with 160 dancers presenting both traditional and Latin ballroom styles.
BYU Ballroom Dance Company was founded in 1960 by professor Benjamin F. de Hoyos and his wife Josephine. Now, as they approach their seventh decade of dedication to dance, the Ballroom Dance Company continues to dazzle audiences with excellent live performances.
Many dancers in the BYU Ballroom Dance Company grew up watching past performances, dreaming of one day performing for the same audience. One of those dancers is Jenna Van De Graaff, a junior photography major who performs with the ensemble.
“It is such an amazing opportunity,” Van De Graaff said. “I remember watching this performance when I was younger and sitting in the audience, admiring the dancers. It is incredible that I get to carry that on and bring joy to those in the audience.”
Do not miss out on this iconic generational event full of classic choreography and new numbers!
