BYU Theatre’s upcoming production of ‘Twelfth Night’ promises silliness, heart and classic Shakespearean confusion, according to cast members Jacob Day and Kendall R. Wright.

This is a story of love triangles and disguise after shipwrecked Viola disguises herself as her brother to make it safely home. She falls in love with a duke, caught in a love triangle with a lady. Wright, who plays Viola’s brother, Sebastian, said he has loved to play a part meant to “intensify the plot and to further the dramatic irony of all the gender deceit going on in the show.” As Viola’s twin brother, Sebastian heightens the romantic chaos that drives one of Shakespeare’s most iconic comedies.

Day described the rehearsal process as “so much fun,” praising director Adam Houghton’s clear and playful vision. He said the cast feels deeply in sync, creating an energetic and collaborative atmosphere. Day is especially excited for audiences to see an early monologue filled with music and dancing, calling it a joyful and relatable moment.

Audience members can expect laughter, absurd storylines and a reminder of the power of community. Tickets are available now. Get yours today.
