Formed in North Carolina, Steep Canyon Rangers have carved out a distinctive place in American roots music. The band blends traditional bluegrass with contemporary songwriting, regional storytelling and literary influences, creating a sound that feels deeply American while remaining fresh and distinctive.

“I first encountered the Steep Canyon Rangers at a music festival in Brevard, North Carolina, where I was working as an intern and have loved them ever since,” said Lyndsay Keith, BRAVO! series producer and presenter. “Their particular blend of bluegrass and broader Americana is so joyful that it makes you want to dance. I am thrilled to introduce their incredible talents to the BYU community!”

The Rangers have earned national acclaim throughout their career. Their album “Nobody Knows You” won the GRAMMY Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2013, while “Rare Bird Alert” and “North Carolina Songbook” also received GRAMMY nominations. The band was later inducted into the North Carolina Music Hall of Fame.
