GROUP THERAPY

RACIAL TRAUMA AND EMPOWERMENT THERAPY GROUP

Attending a predominantly white institution is stressful for students of color and creates barriers to processing the trauma that stems from witnessing violence against BIPOC in the U.S. Join our group therapy sessions to increase your awareness of the impact of racial stress on your health, process your experience with others who understand it, and learn strategies to feel more empowered. Tuesdays from 2-3:30pm on zoom. Contact Dr. Louise Wheeler or Dr. RD Boardman to sign up.

BYU PSYCHOLOGICAL AND COUNSELING SERVICES

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers individual, group and couples treatment (or provides referrals to other agencies which provide similar services) for developmental, emotional, or interpersonal difficulties that arise during the educational process. We espouse a Counseling Center philosophy recognizing that our mission is to assist students in fulfilling their educational goals by helping them overcome obstacles that interfere with their ability to succeed in college.

Find more information about different services provided, resources for self help and managing stress, and how to help others in distress on the BYU CAPS website.
