Due to COVID-19, commencement and convocation ceremonies for the College of Fine Arts and Communications will no longer be held for December 2019 and April, June and August 2020 graduates. We will still be celebrating our graduating seniors on our convocation webpage and through our college Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts.

Toggle ItemHOW CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE 2020 GRADUATION CEREMONIES?
Physical convocation and commencement ceremonies for the College of Fine Arts and Communications will no longer be held. However, you may participate in celebrating you and your cohorts by submitting a story that highlights your BYU education to our “Share Your Story: #CFACGrad” campaign.

Toggle ItemWILL THERE BE ANY OTHER CONVOCATION COVERAGE?
We’re celebrating CFAC graduating seniors on our college Instagram, Facebook and Twitter accounts. We will also be posting stories and additional materials at convocation.byu.edu.
You can also participate by submitting a story, video or photo that celebrates your time at BYU and we will feature it on our social media pages. Please follow this link to submit your story.

Toggle ItemCAN I STILL RECEIVE A CAP AND GOWN? CAN I RETURN ONE I PREVIOUSLY BOUGHT OR RENTED?
From enrollment services: “If you have already ordered a cap and gown for graduation, you can receive a full refund when you cancel your order with Herff Jones. To cancel your cap and gown order, call 800-837-4235. You can still order a cap and gown if you would like to take photos.”

No. There will be no livestream or remote commencement or convocation ceremonies.

Toggle ItemCAN I STILL TAKE GRADUATION PICTURES ON CAMPUS?
Currently, there have been no restrictions placed on taking graduation pictures on campus. Follow byu.edu/coronavirus for the latest information. However, we do ask that you adhere to the Utah Department of Health’s instruction to avoid groups of 10+ people and to follow the “Stay Safe, Stay Home” directive. If you do take photos, please celebrate by sharing your photos on social media using #CFACGrad or by submitting your photos to our “Share Your Story: #CFACGrad” campaign.

Toggle ItemWILL A CONVOCATION OR COMMENCEMENT PROGRAM STILL BE AVAILABLE?
Yes, a commemorative program will be mailed to students who have applied for December 2019 and April, June and August 2020 graduation. (Please make sure that the mailing address in BYU’s directory is up to date.) The commemorative program will also be available for download at convocation.byu.edu by April 20, 2020.

Your diploma and diploma cover will be mailed to your permanent address on file. Please make sure that the mailing address in BYU’s directory is up to date.

Toggle ItemSINCE I AM UNABLE TO WALK THIS YEAR, WILL I BE ABLE TO WALK IN A FUTURE CONVOCATION CEREMONY?
Graduates from the College of Fine Arts and Communications who had qualified to participate in the April 2020 convocation who wish to participate in the April 2021 college convocation ceremony will be allowed to do so by request; however, please note the university will not be allowing returning graduates to participate in the university-wide commencement.
