A Rose in Bloom: BRAVO! Series Presents Coloratura Soprano Erin Morley

The BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series Welcomes Erin Morley, Prestigious Coloratura Soprano Vocalist, to the BYU Stage

Described by The Guardian as having a “crystalline” voice, Erin Morley is one of the most sought-after opera singers in the world. She is a coloratura soprano, a classical singer with the highest range of sopranos, known for their elaborate ornamentation of melodies. She is gracing the BYU stage this November, performing selections from her debut recital disc, “Rose in Bloom,” as part of the BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series.

“Erin Morley is a Metropolitan Opera favorite and has performed at all of the major opera houses in the world,” said BRAVO! Series presenter and producer Lyndsay Keith.

Accompanied by leading orchestras, Morley has performed at Wiener Staatsoper, Opéra national de Paris, Vienna State Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House, Bavarian State Opera and Metropolitan Opera. At the Metropolitan Opera, she has sung more than 100 performances and has been featured in seven Live in HD broadcasts. Her roles include the soprano soloist in Orff’s “Carmina Burana,” Gilda in “Rigoletto,” Tytania in Britten’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and the title coloratura role in “Lakmé.”

“It is a great honor to have her perform on the BRAVO! Series and work with our voice students,” said Keith. “Her incredible range, artistry and grace will be a wonder to experience.”

Experience Morley’s “silken clarity” and “needlepoint precision” in the setting of BYU’s new Music Building Concert Hall.
