A Valentine For Students: Cantus Hosts Student Q&A and Dinner with a Show

A Capella Group, Cantus, Performed on Valentine’s Day for a BRAVO! Series and BYU Alumni Dinner. Cantus Hosted Q&A for BYU Music Students.

On February 14–15, 2025, the BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series and BYU Alumni hosted a dinner with a performance by the all-male a capella group, Cantus. Titled "My Cantus Valentine," the performance was Valentine’s Day themed and drew a large crowd of students, faculty and outside audience members.

Cantus held a Q&A with vocal students the day before their first concert. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and receive personal feedback from these professionals in their field.

"This event was completely different from anything that the BRAVO! Series has done before and it really started as a dream that I thought was impossible — or at least far-fetched,” said Lyndsay Keith, producer and presenter of the BRAVO! Series.

"I felt divinely guided in shaping this event to match my vision and am deeply grateful to all of the collaborators I was led to," Keith said. "This includes the Hinckley Center team for the perfect, elegant venue; Ron Ralston and OIT for providing staging and lighting/audio; BYU Alumni for co-sponsoring the event; BYU catering for working with me to create a delicious and hand-picked menu; Campus Floral for the stunning centerpieces and stage arrangements; the BRAVO! team for front of house and hospitality support; and especially our incredibly talented guest artists, the men's vocal ensemble Cantus."

"Cantus was so wonderful to work with, so kind in interacting with our students and so generous in shaping their program to fit the Valentine's Day theme," Keith added. "I was thrilled to see that people were interested in this kind of event — so much so that we had a packed house both nights."

"All of these amazing partners helped me to create a wonderful evening that was beyond what I ever could have made possible on my own,” Keith said. “So at the end of the day, all I have to say is thank you!"
