Eric Gillett Named New Associate Dean of College of Fine Arts and Communications

Professor and Department Chair Eric Gillett Begins New Role as Associate Dean

Eric Gillett, design professor and former chair of Brigham Young University’s Department of Design, has been appointed associate dean for the College of Fine Arts and Communications.

An award-winning designer with over 25 years of design experience, Gillett graduated from BYU in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and also received a Master of Fine Arts in design from the University of Utah. In 1998, Gillett became a full-time faculty member at BYU.

He frequently works in publishing and branding and enjoys collaborating with students, faculty and other artists on projects both within and outside of BYU. Gillett’s work has also been featured in numerous national and international design publications.

“We are excited to welcome Eric Gillett into the dean’s office and look forward to his unique skills and design thinking, which we know will improve the college for students and faculty alike,” said Ed Adams, Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communications.
