Based in New York, the Westerlies head out West as they visit BYU to perform their individualistic music style

A group of four brass musicians, The Westerlies
The Westerlies have self-proclaimed themselves as an “accidental brass quartet,” as the name “westerly” refers to prevailing winds that travel eastward from the west. The foursome has recorded and produced many albums, gaining them critically acclaimed recognition. Additionally, they have collaborated with musicians such as GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Theo Bleckmann
Producer of BYU Arts and Bravo! Bridget Benton
Benton values the group’s originality. “Their arrangements are exciting and they bring new fresh takes on jazz and chamber music,” she said.
Expand your musical palate and enjoy a fusion of genres presented by The Westerlies. You can’t go south.
The performance will take place on Thursday, November 11 at 7:30 p.m. It will be located in the de Jong Concert Hall in the Harris Fine Arts Center. For more information, visit arts.byu.edu
