'Come Alive' With Innovative Choreography and the Ballroom Dance Company

BYU’s Ballroom Dance Company Will Give Audiences a Glimpse of the Upcoming Tour

Join BYU’s Ballroom Dance Company for an engaging sneak peek of their upcoming tour featuring innovative and compelling choreography.

Under the artistic direction of Curt Holman, chair of the Department of Dance, the dancers will present ballroom dance with a contemporary view and a theatrical twist.

Before they travel to California for their touring showcase, the Ballroom Dance Company will offer audiences at BYU an energetic and infectious pre-tour showcase.

Ballroom dance faculty member Betsy Denney said, “The student dancers are so talented and the choreographic genius of their director, Curt Holman, is unmatched in the ballroom industry.”

The showcase will contain the farewell performances of the Ballroom and Latin Dance Competition medleys “The Sound of Music” and “Carmen,” while also introducing new Paso Doble and Samba choreography by Latin Champions Alex Chernositov and Arina Grishanina.

Current US Amateur Smooth Dancers Sawyer Stolle and Serena Keck will present an artistic theatrical foxtrot during the showcase as well.

Denney said, “There is truly something for everyone.”
