528 bachelor’s and 35 master’s students were graduated from the College of Fine Arts and Communications last week, concluding years of dedicated study at Brigham Young University.
Convocation for the college took place last Friday in the de Jong Concert Hall in the Harris Fine Arts Center. Dr. Stephen Jones addressed graduates and their guests during each of the three sessions.
Alexis Flake and Chelsey Saatkamp spoke at the morning’s first convocation held for the Department of Communications. At the next ceremony, Meredith Moulton and Lisa Ferguson addressed visual arts graduates. Sarah Swan and Heather Francis delivered speeches at the third and concluding college convocation ceremony, held in honor of graduates in the Department of Dance, School of Music, and Department of Theatre and Media Arts.
Friday’s convocation followed Thursday’s commencement. Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was the keynote speaker at the exercises, which nearly filled the 21,000-seat Marriott Center. April’s graduation ceremonies celebrated the completion of 6,001 degrees earned by BYU students.
The College of Fine Arts and Communications is the third largest college at BYU with 3,965 students enrolled during the Fall 2012 semester. Find more graduation statistics here.
