"I have always been interested in Media Arts. When I found out that BYU offered a program in it, I was so excited! I was really nervous to move away from my family in Kansas at 18 years old to pursue this degree at first because it seemed so far away from what I knew to be home. But when I met all my roommates that first semester, I knew everything was going to be okay. I will always remember my first semester at BYU because of them, and I express my gratitude for all the support that I received from them at the times I needed it most."
Hauge was able to participate in many student films and is currently working on a student documentary film called, "Bethesda." "Some of the greatest things working on these projects has taught me are patience and kindness towards one another. In this way, I have had my faith strengthened too. BYU has allowed me to pursue my interests in a safe, friendly, spiritually inspiring environment with people that I will continue to maintain relationships in the future," she said.
"It has allowed me to foster an interest in people and their stories and to hear everyone's voices loud and clear, as well as to become aware of issues in the field that still need to be addressed. Throughout the program, I was able to explore my specific interest in editing film, and this is what I am choosing to pursue in my career. Overall, I am eternally grateful for my experiences at BYU, and will continue to remember them throughout my career and life."
