Experience the “poetic and sensitive pianism” (The Washington Post) and “wondrous sense of color” (San Francisco Classical Voice) of renowned pianist Joyce Yang in the final performance of the 2024-25 season of the BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series.

Born in Seoul, South Korea, Yang stepped into the international spotlight when she won the Cliburn silver medal and has since performed with top orchestras from around the world, including the New York Philharmonic and the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. In 2010, she earned her first Grammy nomination for Best Chamber Music/Small Ensemble Performance for her recording of “Franck, Kutag, Previn & Schumann” with violinist Augustin Hadelich.

She has become well known across the festival circuit with appearances at Aspen Summer Music Festival, La Jolla SummerFest and the Seattle Chamber Music Society. It is at these festivals that she strives to promote “creative ways to introduce classical music to new audiences,” including working with dancers to pair music and dance in outreach activities for students.

“I’ve known Joyce for several years and have worked with her multiple times,” said BRAVO! Series producer and presenter Lyndsay Keith. “Her accolades speak for themselves and she is an incredible pianist, but beyond that, she is also a wonderful human being. The artists I want to work with again and again are those who are kind, humble, encouraging mentors and down-to-earth people while still performing at a world-class level. Joyce is all of those things and more, and I couldn’t ask for a better artist to close out the 2024-25 BRAVO! season.”
