Join the Wind Symphony for an evening dedicated to the vibrance of childhood
As warm weather breezes into Utah, the BYU Wind Symphony prepares to perform a concert that encapsulates what it feels like to be in the springtime of life. On April 5, the symphony will present “Music for the Young at Heart,” a concert centered around the vibrance of children and childhood.
Director Shawn Smith said that the music for the program is “meant to fire the imagination and bring images to mind such as mountains, fireflies and Western exploration.”
Concert-goers will be treated to the vocal talent of music faculty member Jennifer Youngs, who will sing a setting of the children’s book “Goodnight Moon” accompanied by the Wind Symphony. At the conclusion of the concert, the audience can look forward to a whimsical piece that echoes the soundtrack from the cartoon “Tom and Jerry.”
“This concert is designed to be enjoyable for all ages and for a variety of musical tastes,” said Smith.
