Treat your ears to the sounds of warmer days with the Jazz Ensemble’s concert featuring music inspired by traveling abroad

For those experiencing cabin fever after a long winter, the BYU Jazz Ensemble
Inspired by the “legendary bebop trumpeter” Dizzy Gillespie
“The lyrics of this song paint the picture of romance under the stars in a . . . land far away,” said director Mark Ammons
The Jazz Ensemble plans to expand on this musical theme with its final performance of the semester. The program will feature songs that vividly evoke different locations, stories and musical heritage. Each piece will take audiences “on a magic musical carpet ride where [they’ll] hear caravans, bugle calls, love songs, talking drums” and other incredible sounds.
