MY BROTHER’S KEEPER | HANNAH LANDEEN

My Brother’s Keeper is an exhibit born out of death and understanding. Created by Studio Art student Hannah Landeen, she tells about the loss of her older brother at a young age.

“I created a mental narrative of how he died in very dramatic circumstances. Now that I am older, I realize how every day those circumstances were and how we are mainly left with mundane things after the people we love are gone. Still, we treasure these mundane things and circumstances because of their connection to our loved ones,” said Landeen.

Landeen said this project helped her to see the value in making vulnerable artwork. “It allows us to make deep connections with other people. It has pushed me to try new mediums and processes which I think will be extremely valuable for my future career as an artist and educator,” she said.
