BYU's Orpheus Winds to premiere new work by Laurence Lowe Jan. 12

The winter semester performance by Orpheus Winds, Brigham Young University's faculty wind ensemble, will feature the world premiere of Sextet for PIano and Five Winds: 'Musings on Images from Hubble' by ensemble member Laurence Lowe Saturday, Jan. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. Admission is free.

Special guest artist Scott Holden, piano, will join the ensemble for the premiere. Ensemble members include Jaren Hinckley, clarinet; Geralyn Giovannetti, oboe; Christian Smith, bassoon; April Clayton, flute; and Laurence Lowe, horn.

They will also perform Libertango by Astor Piazolla, Partita by Irving Fine and Waterscape by Esther Megargel, a BYU graduate student in composition.
