PROFILE

With more than 25 years of experience practicing communications and public relations, Suzanne Campbell serves as the Assistant Dean of External Relations for Brigham Young University’s College of Fine Arts and Communications. Suzanne is passionate about developing communications strategies that fully utilize the power of communications in a way that effectively speaks to audiences and ultimately motivates behavior change.

Suzanne’s career has been marked by a proven ability to leverage both traditional and modern PR and marketing strategies. Suzanne spent more than five years practicing public relations for Ancestry, where she garnered multiple high-profile placements in outlets such as the Associated Press and The Today Show Fourth Hour, and worked closely with NBC in a partnership to secure media attention around the network’s hit show, “Who Do You Think You Are?” Before Ancestry, Suzanne worked for Penna Powers Communications Agency, where she and her team prepared Utah’s roadways for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, creating a communications campaign that successfully reduced traffic and avoided congestion during the Games.

As a marketing and communications consultant for the past 15 years, Suzanne has delivered results for a wide range of clients, from startup tech to healthcare to culinary arts----through securing awards, increasing event attendance, earning national media placements, creating content, and largely increasing new audiences and subscribers.

In her role as Assistant Dean of External Relations, Suzanne seeks to serve as a communications hub for the many departments and schools within the College of Fine Arts and Communications—offering strategic communications support and guidance to foster connections with key stakeholders.

Outside of her professional role, Suzanne enjoys singing with her husband in the Highland Choral Arts, as well as cycling on the Murdock Trail. She completed her first Half-Ironman in the spring of 2025 and plans to continue her triathlon training.

AWARDS AND RECOGNITION

Suzanne, along with her team at Penna Powers Communications Agency, received the acclaimed Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) for their successful strategic communications efforts to reduce traffic during the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Suzanne received her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Brigham Young University’s Marriott School in 2004 with a special emphasis in marketing. She earned her Bachelor’s (BA) degree in Communications (PR) in 2000 at BYU
