When BYU art professor Robert Barrett was commissioned to paint the portrait of Thomas S. Monson, it wasn’t the first time he’d sat down with a president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The Brigham Young University Motion Picture Archive Film Series will show “The Music Box” on Friday, March 23 at 7 p.m. in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium on level one.

Rohina Malik, a Chicago-based playwright, actress and solo performance artist, will perform her one-woman play “Unveiled” at Brigham Young University Monday, March 26, at 5 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre.

“Twenty years goes by in a hurry,” said Paul L. Anderson, curator of Southwest American Art and former Head of Design at Brigham Young University’s Museum of Art.

Marian Wardle, curator of American art for the BYU Museum of Art, will receive the prestigious W.E. Fischelis Award from the Victorian Society in America for her work as editor and co-author of the book, “The Weir Family, 1820-1920: Expanding the Traditions of American Art.” The book accompanies the current MOA show of the same title.

The Brigham Young University Singers and Concert Choir will take the stage on Saturday, March 17, at 7:30 p.m. in the de Jong Concert Hall, Harris Fine Arts Center.

Brigham Young University’s Living Legends will perform a celebration of Latin American, Native American and Polynesian song and dance in a concert at BYU’s de Jong Concert Hall Thursday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m.

Friday the 16th, from 10:30 p.m. until 1 a.m., the HFAC will be the place to be! The new Student Association of the College of Fine Arts and Communications in conjunction with the dean's office is holding the first annual Night at the HFAC event. We're opening the HFAC late night to throw a party for you fabulous students. We've arranged to showcase all of the cool things that go on in our college including performances by BYU Jazz combo, Folk Ensemble, and Noteworthy. We'll be singing Karaoke, teaching and performing dances, showing off amazing student art, screening flicks from the 24 hour film project, and much much more! Oh, and there will be food and prizes...
