Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with the Utah Symphony: ¡Celebración Sinfónica!

BYU Bravo! Series Hosts Utah Symphony and Conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez in Special Festival Performance

For the first time ever, the annual ¡Celebración Sinfónica! festival is coming to BYU. The BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series (BRAVO! Series) is hosting the Utah Symphony in the BYU Music Building Concert Hall on September 19th at 7:30 PM.

The Utah Symphony’s ¡Celebración Sinfónica! concert will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a performance of iconic Latin American orchestral, popular and traditional music. Guest conductor Enrico Lopez-Yañez, Principal Pops Conductor of the Nashville Symphony, will lead the Utah Symphony. Lopez-Yañez has composed, arranged and conducted music for multiple symphonies nation-wide and is the newly appointed Principal Conductor of Dallas Symphony Orchestra and Principal Pops Conductor of the Pacific Symphony. He is also the Artistic Director and Co-Founder of Symphonica Productions, LLC, a company that manages family and educational productions. Lopez-Yañez is widely known for his unique style of audience engagement.

Joining the Utah Symphony for this event are Mexican tenor Jorge Lopez-Yañez and Utah-based Mariachi Guzman. These special guests will add lots of spirit to this fiesta!

Series Lyndsay Keith said, “This annual concert celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month is now a staple in the Salt Lake community and I’m pleased that it is coming to BYU. Lopez-Yañez is an incredible conductor and will lead a wonderful evening with the Utah Symphony, mariachi band and vocalist. I dare you to leave without dancing or singing along!”

The event is catered to — but not limited to — Spanish speakers. This concert will kick off the BRAVO! Series’ exciting 2023-24 season with an evening of upbeat music and spirited celebration. Tickets are on sale now at the BYU tickets website.
