The BRAVO! Professional Performance Arts Series Brings Comedy and Drama to the BYU Stage with “The Stakeout”
“The day I saw The Stakeout, I knew it was a perfect fit for the Bravo Series,” said BRAVO! Professional Performing Arts Series producer and presenter, Lyndsay Keith.
The two-man show comes to BYU fresh off its New York City off-Broadway run. The show is a comedy drama about two pairs of men who are on a stakeout of each other. Broadway Today described the play as “a head trip about fathers & sons that keeps one guessing until the very end.”
Multi-award-winning actor and playwright Martin Dockery and seasoned actor Andrew Broaddus achieve comedic genius through only two chairs and one prop. Directed by Vanessa Quesnelle, “The Stakeout” is a unique combination of comedy and drama that will pull at your heartstrings and keep you on the edge of your seat. “The Stakeout” was chosen out of hundreds of productions for the SoHo Playhouse 2022 Fringe Encore series to represent the best of fringe theater worldwide.
“It’s funny, it’s poignant, it’s cathartic, all in one,” Keith said. “The world that Broaddus and Dockery create with two chairs and one prop is so clear and believable. They are truly masters.”
