Husband-and-Wife Duo Present Evening of Broadway Favorites

Join BYU BRAVO! For An Evening of Broadway Music with Tony Award Winning Santino Fontana and Wife Jessica Fontana

The dynamic husband-and-wife Broadway duo Santino and Jessica Fontana are coming to BYU this September for two unforgettable concerts of musical theatre favorites. Hosted by BYU’s BRAVO! Professional Performing Art Series, the matinee and evening performances will be held in the Music Building Concert Hall on Saturday, September 23 and will be preceded by a masterclass with musical theatre students and the Fontanas on Friday, September 22.

Both Jessica and Santino Fontana have made a name for themselves on and off Broadway with a substantial list of performing achievements each. Jessica Fontana’s credits include Broadway’s “Baby It’s You!” and the title role in “Cinderella”; “Pipe Dream” in New York City Center’s Encores! Series; and Off-Broadway in “Once Upon a Mattress.” Santino Fontana won a Tony Award for his leading performance in Broadway’s “Tootsie.” For his originating performance in “Tootsie,” he also won a Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award. He has worked with the Walt Disney Company and is well known for voicing Prince Hans in Disney’s hit film “Frozen.”

The evening will feature songs such as “Love is an Open Door” from the Disney’s “Frozen,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” from Rogers & Hammerstein’s “Cinderella” and the jazz standard piece, “Almost Like Being in Love.” Producer and Presenter of the BRAVO! Series Lyndsay Keith said, “The radiant Jessica Fontana is so compelling and Santino Fontana is one of Broadway’s favorite leading men — what an incredible team! I’m so thrilled to present this husband-and-wife together. The Fontanas are proof that it’s possible to be a successful performing artist and have a family, which I think many of our students aspire to.”
