BYU dancEnsemble in Concert: Perspectivus to Feature Eight Pieces Choreographed by Students and One Faculty Work
Original student choreography takes center stage in dancEnsemble in Concert this November. During the 90-minute program, eight student choreographers will showcase contemporary works they created, three of which emerged directly from their composition coursework. The show will also feature choreography by dance faculty Julie Robinson.
Pieces in the show are inspired by a variety of themes and stories; one is a choreographic retelling of Mexican folk tale ‘La Llorona’ (The Crying Woman), while another explores commercial and contemporary dance forms. DancEnsemble in Concert showcases the choreographic and technical talents of over 35 BYU contemporary dancers in a culmination of what they have learned in their classes and rehearsals.
