Q: What aspect of dance are you most passionate about?

Morgan: I am most passionate about how dance connects us to the people around us, including our ancestors.

Q: What was your favorite project you worked on as a student?

Morgan: I thoroughly enjoyed every step of my senior capstone project. I was privileged to receive grant funds from the College of Fine Arts and Communications to travel to Tonga, the country my Dad was born and raised in. There I conducted interviews, attended local dance rehearsals and performances and learned about the role that dance plays in my Tongan culture.

Q: What was your most inspiring experience at BYU?

Morgan: My most inspiring experience at BYU has been dancing with the International Folk Dance Ensemble and with Living Legends. Performing with both teams has opened my eyes to the miracles that are possible and the change that is guaranteed when we strive for constant companionship with the Lord.

Q: How have the arts influenced your relationship with God and Jesus Christ?

Morgan: Reflecting on my BYU experience, I cannot deny the immense growth of my testimony. My relationship with God and Jesus Christ has matured as I have immersed myself in the art of dance. I know that where work is, there the Lord is also. I have felt the Lord lead, carry and change me as I have consecrated my time and talents to the building of His kingdom.

Q: How many consecutive hours have you been on campus in one day?

Morgan: 14 hours

Q: As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Morgan: I don’t remember wanting to be anything specific but several family members, including my mother, worked in the dental field and I really enjoyed going to their offices and learning about their jobs as a kid.
