The Whole Family Can Enjoy These On-Campus Concerts
Come enjoy music for all ages at the Family Concert Series. Sponsored by the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Foundation, this annual concert series provides families with free concerts catered to young children and their families. The series hosts the only concerts on campus that allow children under the age of eight years old to attend. This semester the concerts will be held in the new Music Building and at the West Campus Mainstage Theatre, allowing attendees to have the privilege of being “close to the action” as the musicians perform.
Two Family Concert Series performances are happening this Winter semester. Gather your families and don’t buy a ticket (remember, these concerts are free!) for these unique, high-quality concerts featuring some of BYU’s best musical groups.
Mozart, Mix-Ups, and Fun! Excerpts from Così fan tutte | February 24 at 11:00 a.m. | West Campus Mainstage Theatre
The BYU Opera, directed by Shea Owens and Nathan Haines, makes opera accessible through their family-friendly excerpt of “Così fan tutte.” Bring the entire family to enjoy a fun-filled musical farce involving mistaken identities, mix-ups and the exquisite music of Mozart. Please note that this performance will be held in the West Campus Mainstage Theatre and seating is limited.
Everybody Sing! | April 13 | 11:00 a.m. | Music Building Concert Hall
When everybody sings, magic happens! Bring the whole family to share in the joy that is the combined voices of the BYU Men’s Chorus—directed by Brent Wells—and BYU Women’s Chorus—directed by Sonja Poulter. Please note that this concert has been rescheduled from its original date March 30.
This series is sponsored by the Beverley Taylor Sorenson Foundation and was created to introduce the joy of music to children of all ages. All family members are encouraged to attend regardless of age, infants on up.
