Emma Andreasen

"True presence and selflessness go hand-in-hand... [My] best performances of the summer occurred when I was completely unaware of how I looked to the audience or whether I was having a good performance. I was thinking about the audience and their experience. I was connecting to them in a language that is not spoken. The Lord always seemed to know when I needed just a small connection to pull me out of my self-centeredness.”

Emma Andreasen is a junior in the BFA Acting program and had the unique opportunity to continue live theatre as part of the Playmill Cast in the summer of 2020. With given the chance to still perform in the midst of a global pandemic, Andreasen learned valuable lessons about presence and selflessness in performance. #ArtsatBYU #byucfac #byutma #byuacting
