Communications Students in a Real Research Environment | Arts & Comms: Behind the Stories

The BioComms Lab features cutting-edge biometric technology and allows students to take the lead with mentored learning from faculty members. Currently, students are using the lab to examine the effects of the media on body image. Over the years, the focus has evolved with the media, from studying the effects of magazines to social media and beauty filters.

Kevin John

Kevin John has been working in the BioComms Lab since he was a student at BYU. Now, as a professor, he still spends time in the BioComms Lab working as a mentor for students. Major focuses of his research are health communication and media effects.
