This concert previews the music that the BYU Chamber Orchestra will take to Europe this spring
This spring, the BYU Chamber Orchestra bids North America a fond farewell as it travels across the Atlantic for its European tour. But before the orchestra leaves, it will showcase some of the music that the group’s European friends will hear in the concert “Bon Voyage to Europe” on March 23.
Those who attend the concert will enjoy the sounds of some iconic small orchestra pieces, including the overture for The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini, Argentinan composer Alberto Ginastera’s “Variaciones Concertantes” and Ludwig van Beethoven’s “Symphony no. 7.”
Chamber Orchestra director Kory Katseanes said he is looking forward to the concert and the spring tour.
“After twice being cancelled the previous two years due to the pandemic, the orchestra is eagerly anticipating this tour,” he said. “Come cheer the orchestra on to Europe as well as enjoy some of the most thrilling music written for chamber orchestra.”
