“Going forward I strive to create a program, one that encompasses not just the stage, but the well-being of those who inhabit it. At the conference I was reminded of my ability to change lives as a beacon of inspiration and advocate for the arts.”
A digital love letter to AATE, I write to you with a heart of gratitude, like a stage under overflowing lights. This conference for theater educators was an inspiring learning opportunity that reminded me of why I am doing this. I stood along side those who have spent years dedicating their lives to the arts. I saw what it was like to fall in love with your job over and over again. I learned the delicate art of orchestrating a theater program with finesse. I discovered the importance of self-care as an educator, understanding that only by nurturing my own well-being could I truly care for my classes. I now wield a deeper understanding of the theater world, making me a more proficient practitioner. I can impart this wisdom to my students, guiding them towards excellence. Going forward I strive to create a program, one that encompasses not just the stage, but the well-being of those who inhabit it. At the conference I was reminded of my ability to change lives as a beacon of inspiration and advocate for the arts. Thank you AATE, for reminding me that theater is a gift, my gift to share. Xoxo, Kennedy
