Mandy Darrington explores the connection between person and place in this installation about her connection to a campground in Idaho that she’s been visiting with her family every year since 1986.
“This exhibit is an attempt to understand my own personal connection to place, which I define as an anti-rational, instinctual connection to location—the location that we feel drawn to often in spite of physical or survival needs,” Darrington said. “My show is meant as a sort of retrospective love letter to my own memories and experiences, both as an individual and as a member of my family unit, that all occurred in this specific location.”
