Brigham Young University will once again host the 2010 U.S. National Amateur Dancesport Championships, one of the nation's largest amateur ballroom dance competitions, Thursday through Saturday, March 11-13, in the Marriott Center.

The competition, sponsored by the National Dance Council of America in cooperation with the BYU Dance Division, will feature preteen, junior, youth and adult categories. U.S. national titles will be awarded in all categories during the competition.
The event will feature performances by BYU dance classes, school groups and amateur dancers. They will be competing at the bronze, silver and gold levels in two-step, polka, mambo, foxtrot, swing, quickstep, rumba, tango, waltz and cha-cha, among other dances.
A highlight of Dancesport is the Formation Championship in which teams of about eight couples in the preteen, junior and youth age groups compete in Latin and standard dances. In addition to the amateur competitions, top professional standard couples in the United States will compete in the annual invitational 'America’s Battle of Champions' Friday, March 12.
The judges and officials for the event are all certified as national judges and recognized by the NDCA.
