The 8-Hands Ensemble, a percussion quartet featuring faculty from the Brigham Young University School of Music and other schools, will perform Friday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall. Admission to this event is free.

The ensemble includes Ron Brough, BYU percussion faculty; Jason Nicholson, percussion faculty at Utah State University; Doug Smith, percussion faculty at Utah Valley University; and Jed Blodgett, Juan Diego Catholic High School, Draper, Utah.

The ensemble will perform a number of percussion pieces, including “Threads” by Paul Lansky, “Third Construction” by Paul Lansky, “Marimba Quartet” by Daniel Levitan, and “Ku-Ka-Ilimoku” by Christopher Rouse. There will be one intermission during the performance.
