From Samba and Waltz to California and Cambodia: BYU Ballroom Dance Company’s Pre-Tour Show “Rhythm”

Join BYU Ballroom Dance Company On Campus For a Pre-Tour Showing of “Rhythm”

Every year, the Ballroom Dance Company wows audiences around the world with their captivating performances. This October, they are bringing their show, “Rhythm,” to the BYU stage before taking it on tour to Northern California, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia.

BYU ballroom dancers are known to regularly shine on the national competition circuit but this pre-tour campus show is an opportunity for these students to “put aside their individual competitive desires to come together as a unified 32-member company,” said Curt Holman, artistic director of Ballroom Dance Company.

The show will open with “Rhythm,” a number that draws audiences into the world of ballroom dance. The show will feature medleys from “Fiddler on the Roof” and “Somebody to Love,” both of which have earned coveted British Championship titles. Audiences will also get to experience energetic Latin numbers and elegant ballroom dances in a performance that caters to all tastes.
