Jazz bassist Hans Halt to perform at BYU Oct. 23

Brigham Young University’s School of Music welcomes guest artist Hans Halt, string bassist, who will perform a recital Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 5:30 p.m. in the Madsen Recital Hall.

Halt will be accompanied by Steve Lindemann, Aaron McMurray and Eric Hansen. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Music selections include “Gloria’s Step” by Scott La Faro, “Stanley T” by Hans Halt and “Barbados” by C. Parker.

Halt performs regularly with the Reno Philharmonic and the Reno Jazz Orchestra and earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music from the University of Nevada, Reno. He teaches jazz arranging, jazz composition, jazz improvisation, jazz keyboard techniques and applied bass and piano at the University of Nevada, Reno.
