Filming the HFAC: A New Documentary
Throughout fall 2021 and winter 2022, often with the assistance of a media arts student, documentary professor and TMA Associate Chair Brad Barber filmed a wide variety of scenes and spaces at the Harris Fine Arts Center to archive its final academic year serving the majority of the College of Fine Arts and Communications. Conceived as a modest gift to the faculty, staff, administrators, students and alumni of the College, the medium-length documentary film aims to preserve a sample of the unique, diverse and ultimately sacred activities that took place within the walls of this extraordinary building.
The project was made possible with generous support from the Dean's Office and the Department of Theatre and Media Arts. Barber hopes the documentary will be complete in winter semester 2023; upon completion, the full documentary will be available on this page. Barber is currently editing the film together with Media Arts student Emma Volz.
