Why do you create/participate in music?
My initial motivations for pursuing music came from the influence of my family. Although I don't come from a history of serious, professional performers, I attended my siblings’ music lessons and performances.
What inspires you?
When I find a great piece that has never been recorded before or perhaps never played, I want to dive in and push the repertoire frontier back. This is why I spent so much time in the Primrose International Viola Archive
How have you found belonging during your time at BYU?
I have found belonging and meaning in the College of Fine Arts and Communications despite aspects of my life that aren't universally welcomed at BYU. By bonding with my peers and striving for a better experience together, I have felt like a valued member of the music community on campus.
What’s your go-to study snack?
I love sitting down with a large (and unhealthy) cup of Goldfish. You could say it's my preferred drink.
What was your favorite project you worked on as a student?
As a research assistant and music transcriptionist at the Harold B. Lee Library, I helped to reproduce the lost film scores of composer Max Steiner
Who is your favorite artist and why?
I'm currently fascinated by the artistry of violist Timothy Ridout
What are your aspirations/goals for the future?
I have been offered acceptance to Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music
