LA LÍNEA: | MARIO ALCAUTER

La Línea | Mario Alcauter

What are borders, and why do we let them divide us? These are the questions explored by “La Línea,” a new exhibit from photography student Mario Alcatuer.

Taken at the border between San Ysidro, California and Tijuana, Mexico, Alcauter’s photographs capture the humanizing details of the immigration process.

A Mexican immigrant himself, Alcauter hopes that the exhibit brings a new perspective of empathy to a polarizing subject. “I would like others to understand that the issue of immigration is not black and white, but very layered and complex,” said Alcauter. “It has a lot of gray areas.”
