Melissa Gonzales is a ceramic artist with a deep interest in geology. Her passion for blending art and science leads her to push the limits of the medium by experimenting with unique materials and techniques.
“Making New:” is a striking mix of the natural and creative worlds, as revealed through grids, lines and handmade synthetic rock.
Above all, Gonzales uses her work as a way to access the divine power of creation, and she hopes that her viewers can too.
“I want people to think about finding understanding through creation and how that makes us closer to nature and God,” said Gonzales.
