By combining various art forms, Jeffery Hampshire creates a visual representation of the reality that exists in memories.
“I was excited to place these works in context with each other because they all come back to an exploration of memory and place,” Hampshire said.
The exhibit delves into Hampshire’s desire to discover what shaped him, and to understand the effect that a place has on one’s journey of self-actualization. By recreating textures and using materials from his former and current places of residence, Hampshire creates a world based in his own memories, and extends his childhood world into the here and now
