Famous Pianist To Perform For Free

BYU’s School of Music will host a free concert this Saturday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. The concert, in the HFAC Madsen Recital Hall, features Norman Krieger, one of the world’s most acclaimed pianists who will play selections from Mozart, Beethoven, Lazarof and Chopin.

Krieger regularly performs alongside major orchestras in North America, including the New York Orchestra and Los Angeles Orchestra, and he has been a guest soloist with the Hong Kong Philharmonic and Turkey’s Presidential Symphony Orchestra, among several other foreign ensembles.

Krieger’s training began in Los Angeles, and by the age of 15 he became a full scholarship student at the famed Juilliard School. After receiving his bachelor’s and master’s degrees, he studied in London with Alfred Brendel and Maria Curcio.

In addition to his numerous appearances with ensembles throughout the world, Krieger has also recorded four albums, featuring works by contemporary artists as well as timeless musicians like Beethoven and Chopin.
